Frequently Asked Questions
COVID-19 (Coronavirus)
The authorities in the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland continue to take measures to protect public safety and limit the spread of Covid-19 on the island of Ireland.
Republic of Ireland Covid-19 Safety Charter
Members of the Good Food Ireland® Collection in the Republic of Ireland are committed to the Republic of Ireland Covid-19 Safety Charter.
The Covid-19 Safety Charter is a voluntary initiative for businesses in the Republic of Ireland that is designed to reassure visitors that government approved hygiene and safety procedures are in place. In addition to Ireland’s sector-specific operational guidelines for tourism businesses on how to meet government health recommendations, businesses signing up to the Charter and displaying the Charter logo are committing to observe and adhere to strict safety protocols. This means they have:
· A clear understanding of the COVID-19 infection.
· An awareness of their role in and responsibility for helping prevent the spread of the COVID-19 virus.
· A clear understanding of standard precautions surrounding infection control.
· A clear understanding of the correct hand-washing techniques and practices.
· A clear understanding of how to apply this knowledge to their place of work.
Northern Ireland – “We’re Good To Go” Policy
Members of the Good Food Ireland® Collection in Northern Ireland are committed to the Northern Ireland “We’re Good To Go” policy.
“We’re Good To Go” is the official mark to signal that a tourism and hospitality business is following the government and industry Covid-19 guidelines and has a process in place to maintain cleanliness and aid social distancing. This means:
- The businesses are adhering to government and public health guidance, including social distancing and cleanliness protocols that must be in place.
- Have carried out a Covid-19 risk assessment
- Have implemented the required health and safety processes to conduct business safely.

Absolutely, our physical gift vouchers and some other food lovers’ items from the online shop are dispatched by post. Others are continuing to be sent by courier. However, it is advisable to give yourself additional time if possible when ordering items for a specific occasion as some deliveries are being impacted by the Covid-19 restrictions and so might incur some delays. This applies in particular to international deliveries. Unfortunately, this is completely out of our control. Our E-Gift Vouchers are immediately emailed to the gift recipient’s inbox.
